Widgets Overview
Your Newsletters, Articles and Homepage are getting much smarter thanks to Hail’s widgets, which include International Translations, Social Media Feeds and Website Alerts.
- You can find Widgets in the Settings dropdown in the grey left-hand menu.
- Hail widgets are an easy way to add extra functionality and content to your Website and other specific layouts. Navigate through the different types of widgets by clicking on the tab name at the top of your page.
- Only organisation Owners, Admin, and Publishers can edit widgets.
- Widgets will only be visible to the public if they have been configured and selected to display somewhere such as the Website.
- Widgets display in predefined locations on the Website and other layouts.
Widget types
Core settings
Alert: An alert widget can only be added to your Hail website. Use this widget to draw attention to an important notice.
SEO: Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), is the process of improving your website's visibility in search engines like Google to attract more traffic. Complete the Title, Meta description and tick website.
Translate: Enable this widget on your content types to show translation options. You can choose your top 4 languages to display as quick translate options and the rest will be displayed in a dropdown list.
Video block: Display a video near the bottom of your Hail Website. Simply enter a YouTube or Vimeo video URL from the video browser and editing the Title and Description as needed.
Social
Facebook Feed- This widget is designed to sit alongside the 4 Promo Blocks on the Classic Website Style. It displays a feed of your recent Facebook posts
Instagram Feed- Display your recent Instagram posts in a feed on specific content types in Hail. These include: Classic website, Gazette, and Portal.
Promo blocks
Add 4 Promo Blocks to your Hail Website to highlight and link to key articles, publications or URLs. This widget is designed to sit alongside the Facebook widget on a Classic website style. On a Canvas website style, Promo blocks become your icon section.
Website Buttons
Use Website Buttons to add eye-catching links on your Hail Website. Choose from the graphics provided or upload your own. Connect each one to either an article, publication or URL.
