How to Set Up the Absence Form in the Hail App

Enable absence reporting in the Hail mobile app

Schools can allow parents and caregivers to submit student absences directly through the Hail mobile app.

Turn on the absence form

  1. Go to Organisation Settings
  2. Select the App tab
  3. Tick Enable Absence Report form
  4. Enter the email address that should receive absence reports
  5. Click Save

What happens when a parent submits a form?

An email will be sent to:

  • Your school’s nominated absence email address
  • The parent/caregiver who submitted the form

The report includes:

  • Student name
  • Parent name
  • Classroom
  • Date
  • Contact details
  • Reason for absence
