Creating A Notice
To create a new Notice, click on "+Notice" in the top left
You will be taken to a new blank Notice, ready to fill out
First, add a title - simply click the title field and begin typing.
Next you can add more information to your Notice using the "Notice Body". You can format the text with headers, bold, italics, emojis, links, lists, quotes and tables by simply clicking any of the formatting options in the top bar in the Notice Body, or by highlighting the text you wish to format and choosing from the green buttons that appear.
You may also add attachments to your Notice. Below the Notice body editor, just click "Add Files" in the Attachments bar and choose a file to upload! The following file types are accepted: Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDFs and MP3s.
Notice Dates
Once you have filled out your Notice, you need to select a date for it. Scroll down to the "Notice Dates" section below attachments and use the first date field displayed (titled "Which date do you want this Notice to display as?") to set the date. This date will be used by Hail Noticeboards to order your Notices - the Notice will always be visible if the date is in the future, but once it has passed the Notice will be expired and no longer display. This date must be less than three months from now.
Notices are also able to repeat - this is a great feature if you have an event happening each week, or maybe a daily event. To enable repeating on your Notice, toggle the option at the bottom of the Notice dates section labelled "Do you want this Notice to repeat?". This will open up two more options below, allowing you to choose how often your Notice repeats, and the last date it will display until. Use the "How often would you like this Notice to repeat?" dropdown to choose your repeat option: either every day (Daily), on weekdays only (weekdays), every week after the selected date (Weekly) or every month after the selected date (Monthly). Finally, select the date for the Notice to stop repeating - this must be less than 6 months in the future.
Author, Location & Tags
You can add an Author to your Notice using the "Show Author" option in right hand sidebar section. Just enable the toggle option here and fill out the field to change it.
A location can also be added - just start typing the address in the "Location" field and choose from the option that appear.
To tag content, simply click on Select Tags. Then, as you begin typing you will be presented with a list of matching suggestions from your existing tags.
Content can be tagged multiple times. For example, a blog post about the National Marketing Conference could be tagged with Marketing, Business, and Events.
Only organization Owners, Admins and Publishers can create and edit tags. All members can add tags to content.
You can also add Private Tags which are only seen by people in your organisation.
Publishing, Sharing & Scheduling
Do we need a specific Notices one? Think we have this covered in other docs :^)
Quick Add (to Noticeboard)
You can also add your Notice to a Noticeboard from the Notice edit page! Just choose from any of your existing Noticeboards in the 'Add to Noticeboard' section in the right hand side of the page - just under publishing. Simply toggle the option next to the Noticeboard's title and your Notice will be added.
