Duplicating Articles and Publications
You can make a copy of any article or publication in Hail.
(This applies to Articles, Newsletters, Blogs, Magazines, Gazettes, Folios)
- Locate the the article or publication you want to duplicate in your library.
- Select 'edit' to open the item in the edit screen.
- Once there, look for the 'duplicate' button in the top-right corner of your screen:
- After pressing the duplicate button, a copy will be created and automatically opened for you. You’ll know you’re working on the duplicated version by the word "(copy)" at the end of the title.
**Best practice: only remove the word (copy) after you have changed the title of your article or publication. This helps prevent confusion by ensuring that the original and the copy don’t have identical titles, making it easier to distinguish between them.
Important note on duplicated publications:
- The duplicated publication will include all articles from the original, but the articles themselves are not duplicated; they are the same as those in the original.
- If you modify an article in the duplicated publication, the changes will also apply to the article in the original publication. Keep this in mind if you wish to retain historical data in earlier publications.
