Quick-Links Overview
Quick-links are a handy way to highlight specific content at the top of your Hail Website, Portal, Articles and Publications. They work like a navigation structure.
You can choose which quick-links are shown at the top of different content types. For example, I may have different options for my website and Portal. You can add quick-links that link to other Hail articles and publications or any external websites or pages.
Understanding Quick-links
- Quick-links are a handy way to highlight specific content on your Hail Website. You can link quick-links to Hail articles, publications and external websites or pages.
- Only organisation Owners, Admins, and Publishers can create and edit quick-links.
- Quick-links will only be visible to the public if they have had a link added to them and they are set to show on content. So they need to have an article/publication/external link attached, and be set to display somewhere, such as the Newsletter or Website.
- Quick-links should be kept short, one or two words, in order to ensure there's enough room for all to display at smaller screen sizes.
- Four or five items on the topline of your navigation is ideal.
- On mobile phones quick-links will display at the top right in the mobile style menu.
- Simply drag and drop the quick-links in the list to order them.
- Move your quick-links into a folder to become a dropdown list- think of a folder as your topline navigation.
- You can categorise articles to match folder names, like placing "Policies & Procedures" under "Important Info."
How to add Quick-links and folders
You can create and edit quick-links by navigating to the Quick-Links section on the left-hand menu under Settings, or in the Website section near the top where it says Add/Edit Quick-links. Here you can also create folders that hold multiple quick-links to become a dropdown list.
